• Optimize Specialty Pharmaceuticals direct materials and overall Mallinckrodt packaging spend and supplier base. Deliver minimum $25 million cost savings to the bottom line by 2018.
• Work closely with Specialty Pharmaceuticals business unit and plants globally to develop linked procurement strategies which identify and implement cost savings and process improvement opportunities, assure quality standards are met, mitigate risk, and optimize vendor base taking into consideration total cost of ownership (TCO). Establish roadmap of annual objectives. While not personally responsible for indirect spend, work with corporate Director(s) responsible for indirect spend to assure plans are well coordinated and integrated.
• Provide support to External Manufacturing as necessary.
• Supervise two category managers.
• Work with CPO and other procurement leaders to define and implement best-in-class procurement practices.
• Develop in-depth knowledge of Specialty Pharmaceuticals direct materials and Mallinckrodt packaging.
• Utilize Mallinckrodt’s sourcing excellence framework and appropriate sourcing techniques to direct sourcing projects & events, identify preferred/strategic suppliers, negotiate and execute contracts.
• Manage supplier performance by establishing and stewarding appropriate KPI’s. Establish and manage senior executive (e.g. CxO, SVP, VP) relationships with key suppliers.
• Implement contract strategy for Specialty Pharmaceuticals direct materials and Mallinckrodt’s global packaging and manage contract compliance.
• Prepare monthly stewardship reports including progress on key initiatives, savings achieved/forecast, cost metrics and variances versus plan.

Education:
BS/BA Degree in science, business, engineering or other related fields. M.B.A. desirable.
Experience:
Greater than ten years of Purchasing, Sourcing, or Supply Chain Management.
Previous pharmaceutical or chemical procurement experience
Preferred Skills/Qualifications:
Professional procurement qualification; e.g. CIPS, CPP, CPM, CPSM, or equivalent.
Project Management and Six-Sigma methodologies.
Skills/Competencies:
Excellent leadership, organization, oral and written communication and negotiation skills a must.
Capable of working effectively with manufacturing sites as well as other internal stakeholders.
